Experience Review: Bottomless Brunch at Neighbourhood

A cultural phenomenon

As the name suggests brunch refers to a meal combining elements of breakfast and lunch. Expect to see eggs, bagels, salmon and avocado on the menu. Typically these are not food you would pair with bottomless alcohol.

Because with every poached egg you eat, comes an endless amount of Prosecco, wine, beer or in our case vodka, that you can hope for.

The slick hair, satin shirt and big smile. Oh how naive I was gulping down that Prosecco.

Neighbourhood, Liverpool

My first bottomless brunch experience was at Neighbourhood in Liverpool I attended with my dear friend Caroline and the reason I chose this venue from the dozens that offer the service was the menu choices. A lot of places focus heavily on the breakfast dishes in their menu whereas Neighbourhood had salads, burgers and eggs Benedict (plus other items) so the variety was there.

I wasn’t familiar with the location of the venue but when I arrived at Castle Street and realised that we would be sitting in an iconic bank building the day was already off to a good start (that, and the sun was shining in April).

As you can imagine the target audience of BB tends to be young female adults who can’t wait ‘to get dressed up to let themselves down’ . The decor inside Neighbourhood is glamorous and Art Deco everyone was dressed to the nines, it was certain that Instagram’s feed would be littered with pictures the next day as everyone wanted to show off their BB best.

Food, glorious food

I feel I reached the low point of my day when I forgot my McDonalds order number at midnight and lurked around the collection counter like a vulture waiting on a McChicken Legend meal. Unfortunately, this bird of prey got her claws on a 20 box of chicken nuggets and a plethora of dips. Turns out, they don’t taste better the second time around.

Final say

Despite the very unglamorous end to my amazing day I would give Neighbourhood’s BB a massive 5 stars as the food was delicious, drinks flowing and staff were super friendly and attentive. It is also great value for money, for the 90 minutes you’re in the building the team make sure you get as much out of it and it was certainly worth the £35pp admission.
